Eugenia Markovna Magaril was born in Vitebsk (Belarus) on June 21st, 1902. In 1919 she moved to St. Petersburg  where she began her training at the Popular School of Art. She continued her education at the Institute of Art Practice in Vitebsk, studying painting and design. Eugenia passed away in 1987 in Leningrad at the age of 85.
